The Big Balls Goon Show, running for climate, debunking the Abundance agenda
PRESENTED BY BOOT-SCOOTING PLATYPI
Thanks for letting me take a little break from the newsletter, though if you follow me on Bluesky you know I didn’t unplug from the news entirely. Most of my neurons are occupied by the fascist “Big Balls” siege of Washington, D.C. Each morning, masked men in my neighborhood abduct people going to work or getting groceries for their wife and newborn child. One day it’s a team of HVAC repairmen, the next it’s a group of landscapers. Internal Revenue Service police are detailed to arresting teenagers for fare evasion in the subway system, as 14-ton MRAPs t-bone cars on Capitol Hill. The “good” cops execute warrants in masks and paramilitary cosplay as mothers take their children to school.
This morning: MPD and ATF conducted a massive paramilitary operation, with officers in masks and camo, in the Mt. Pleasant neighborhood of DC within 500 yards of an elementary school while neighborhood children were heading to school. On their third day of classes.

But the weather in the nation’s capital is lovely this week1 and the racist goon Jeanine Pirro can’t even indict a ham sandwich (thrower). Jury nullification, baby!

Aru Shiney-Ajay, Sunrise Movement’s Executive Director, is joining Lead Locally at 6 PM this evening for a conversation with three elected climate champions from across the country to hear about how they successfully ran for local office and how they’re governing in the face of the Trump administration’s attacks on our planet and communities:
Oscar De Los Santos, AZ State House Rep. District 11
Kate Sykes, Portland City Councilor District 5
Andre Carroll, PA State House Rep. District 201
I took a photo of the president’s latest portrait unfurled outside a federal building. This one is outside the U.S. Department of Labor.

Eos’s Grace van Deelen covers the several days of public hearings opposing the U.S. Environmental Pollution Agency’s plan to rescind the finding that greenhouse gases are dangerous pollution.
By our count, at the end of the four full days of public hearing testimony, we’d heard hundreds of Americans speak out against the EPA proposal and fewer than 20 speak in favor. Those in favor of rescinding the Endangerment Finding included representatives from the American Petroleum Institute, the CO2 Coalition, and auto industry trade groups, as well as Kathleen Sgamma, an oil and gas advocate who was under consideration to lead the U.S. Bureau of Land Management but withdrew.
In the Guardian, Peter Brannon, the author of The Story of CO2 Is the Story of Everything, talks about how humanity is driving the planet headlong into the sixth great extinction:
Worryingly, in the past few decades geologists have discovered that many, if not most, of the mass extinctions of Earth history – including the very worst ever by far – were caused not by asteroids as they had expected, but by continent-spanning volcanic eruptions that injected catastrophic amounts of CO2 into the air and oceans.
The Revolving Door Project debunks the Abundance agenda, which is fueled by boatloads of dirty cash from fracking-paperclip Silicon Valley billionaires like Chris Larsen of Ripple. Larsen just dropped $2 million to poison UC Berkeley Law’s climate program with “climate-positive pathways” for oil and gas companies “to be part of the solution.”
