The New York Times’ “abundance” promoter Ezra Klein eulogized the recently deceased Charlie Kirk this morning:

For your edification, Hill Heat has collected some of the building blocks of the political edifice Kirk constructed during his time on this Earth. We apologize for the intellectual sewage that follows.

Charlie Kirk on climate.

"If you actually believe that climate change is an existential threat, which is complete gibberish, nonsense and balderdash—and all of you guys should be unafraid to push back against all that garbage, because it's designed for one thing: power and control. And let me just tell you something that is a general rule, if your biggest worry in life is existential, you live a great life. If your biggest worry is the sky falling and not sanitation, nutrition, getting murdered on the way home, or being beaten, you live a very nice life. This climate change nonsense can only happen in a rich, generally peaceful society. You think that the people in the slums of India, the 300 million that don't have access every single day to functioning toilets, you think that they're worried about the sky falling?"

"Climate change is the wrapper around Marxism. You have Marxism at its core and you have climate change on the exterior. Climate change activism, environmentalism, pseudo-paganism - we call it a Trojan horse, a wolf in sheep's clothing, it all sounds so cliché but it's totally true."

“We think this is all politicized. This is driven towards a environmentalist agenda that is trying to weaken American energy dominance.”

“Science does not have consensus… Science says nothing. Scientists say things. Science never talks. Science is silent… Now, again, global warming does not have consensus like the second law of thermodynamics. Global warming does not have consensus like a object at rest will stay at rest… The consensus on global warming. What an outrageous claim.”

“The amount of censorship that is now happening if you dare disagree or ask questions about the climate dogma, the climate earth-worshipping religion, is remarkable.”

“A tyrant’s fantasy is to have a massive green economy transition. You can get rid of private property. You can control people’s movements. It is fundamentally the abolition of civilization as we know it. For what? The science is not solid. The science is debated. They look at science as if it is religious, irrefutable dogma.”

“Jay Inslee is kind of the archbishop of earth worship, otherwise known as the governor of Washington.”

“The built-in premise of the climate hoax is ‘carbon is bad.’ Well, carbon is life, actually. You can’t have anything without carbon. At all. Literally. Life is built on carbon. They say carbon dioxide is bad. How much carbon dioxide is bad? Don’t plants thrive on carbon dioxide? The earth is greener than any other time it ever has been in the history of the world.”

“They know it’s not a climate crisis. They see it as an excuse to justify a totalitarian administrative state power grab over our freedom and liberty.”

“I am not concerned about global warming. I am however terrified of global government.”

“The one that is sneaking up on us, everybody, is earth worship, environmentalism. We have to be prepared in more than one way to debate it, to refute it, and not bend the knee at the green calf. On guns and violence.

“I think it’s worth it. It’s worth to have a cost of, unfortunately, some gun deaths every single year so that we can have the Second Amendment to protect our other God-given rights. That is a prudent deal.”

“A properly defined government is a government supposed to fear the people, not the people fear the government. And one of the ways this is possible is to be able to have hundreds of millions of people own firearms.”

“We own weapons that if, God forbid, your government, Joe Biden, got so tyrannical, that we'd be able to defend our communities and our families.”

On democracy, politics, and government.

“I’m not a fan of democracy.”

“We create this leviathan under going after terrorists, but just imagine, who are the terrorists? You are. If you’re a Christian, they consider you a terrorist. If you're a gun owner, they consider you a terrorist.”

“If they can make you put a mask on, they’ll take your guns. They can make you take a vaccine, they control your children.”

“The Federal Reserve should be ended in its current form. It’s a travesty to a free society.”

“New York City councilman Yusuf Salaam, who once took part in the gruesome gang rape of a jogger in Central Park, is now furious that an NYPD officer dared to pull him over for having illegally tinted windows. Salaam wasn’t even arrested or given a ticket, but after getting away with gang rape he apparently thinks he deserves to be completely above the law. What a disgusting pig.”

“Ilhan Omar came in legally and she hates the country. She’s a sleeper cell infiltrator of the United States representing Congress. She hates the country. She hates the west. She should be deported back to where she came from, Somalia.”
